SUBJECT: Registration and Coming into force of Amendments to the Federal Courts Rules and the Federal Court Immigration and Refugee Protection Rules

The amendments to the Federal Courts Rules concerning offers to settle (Rules 420 and 455) have now been approved by the Governor General in Council.

The Rules amending the Federal Court Rules were registered on November 15, 2005 and came into force on that date.

Furthermore, the amendments pertaining to the immigration rules have also been approved by the Governor General in Council.

The Rules amending the Federal Court Immigration and Refugee Protection Rules were registered on November 15, 2005 and came into force on that date.

These amendments have been posted on both the Federal Court of Appeal and the Federal Court websites.
